About the Session
Seeds for Tomorrow is a quiet, reflective making space that invites people to pause, connect and contribute to a collective exchange of ideas.
Inspired by the theme of Radical Futures, the activity draws on the meaning of a radical as the first shoot to emerge from a germinating seed. Participants are invited to consider the ideas, hopes and acts of care they wish to nurture within their own communities and creative practice.
Meet the Facilitator
Amelia Jajko, Visual Artist
Amelia Jajko is a self-taught visual artist based in Rubibi/Broome, Western Australia. Working primarily in oil paint, her practice is grounded in observation and explores relationships between memory, place and everyday rituals, often drawing on the landscape and familiar rhythms of life.
A finalist in the Portia Geach Memorial Award (2025), Jajko has also been selected for the Jury Art Prize (2023, 2025), Australian Regional Landscape Prize (2022) and The Lester Prize (2021), and was awarded the Shinju Art Awards People’s Choice in 2023.
In 2020, Jajko received Regional Arts WA funding for People of Broome, a community-based portrait project that culminated in a solo exhibition. Her subsequent solo exhibitions include Love Letter to Kimberley (2022) and Bauhinia Season (2026). Her work Minyirr – Holding Breath is included in Radical Futures, the 2026 Regional Arts Triennial at John Curtin Gallery.
